Pluggd.in March 12, 2008

Pluggd.in is Ashish Sinha’s blog where he reviews Indian tech startups. It has an excellent inventory of upcoming startups, and useful resources like interviews with Indian entrepreneurs, VC insights, jobs, forum etc. It’s a regularly updated site (unlike eIndiaEmoticon Grin) and I found lots of cool links there.

It’d be nice to have a index or categorization of some sort, though. I wanted to see healthcare related startups and didnt find keyword search efficient from that perspective. Nevertheless, a very useful site if you want to keep a pulse on the Indian startup scene.

TheProudSikh is a site promoting Sikhism through custom animation, wallpapers, quizzes and other tools. My initial reaction was different, but having clicked around on couple of different occasions, I think this site is cool.

Good educational tools, downloads and links here if you are interested in knowing about Sikhism. The animation is above average for an independent developer. It’s a perfect example of religious education 2.0 :) Good know people are motivated to do such work.

iLeher is kinda likeButton 5. They write about ‘internet wave’ in India, so focus not only on websites but news and views also. Interestingly, we share the wordpress template too :)
The site is run by two indian IT professionals based in west coast. I like their presentation and layout, I think it’s very readable- something that is rarity in high content sites. Keep it up guys.

Wrench Icon Update: We don’t share the same wordpress templates anymore. Somewhere in May’07 eIndia moved to the ‘Regulus’ template. But you already knew that.

Digital Inspiration Blog January 11, 2007

Digital Inspiration is blog of Amit Agarwal. Amit Agarwal is often publicized as one of the first professional bloggers who made money by blogging (Dont ask how much. I dont know..) . Anyway, his blog is worth looking at, although it’s not focusing on Indian IT scene. I’ve included it in my listing because the blogger is located in India. The ex-IITian (Roorkee) has interesting posts every now and then.

By the way, he also works with Podtech.net to put out a podcast about indian IT scene. It’s called ‘IndiaTech’ and you can subscribe to it (free) on iTunes. I’ll probably listen to them in the next few weeks.. will update this post when I form my (ahem!) opinion.
