but requires registration. If you are wondering how they are able to stream free content when others are charging for it, I haven’t got the scoop on that yet.
The only attempt at monetizing was a “Donate” box. I signed up and tried the stream in FireFox 2, but it didn’t work (my paranoid NoScript was blocking it). But in IE6, the stream came through well in Windows Media Player. Not much delay, and not bad quality!
I don’t know how iDesiTV is going to survive with ‘donation’ business model (the high bandwidth cost for streaming media needs to be covered somehow, right?), but take advantage while it lasts.
Update: My dad tried iDesiTV for about a month when he was visiting to catch up on news and other regular cable stuff. The streaming was very stable and stood the abuse of frequent channel switching very well. I’m inclined to give two thumbs for iDesiTV (for now, at least)…

Well, the question is not if the site is streaming free, but is it legal to stream channels which cable and satellite providers charge.
Thanks for giving this link but when I stream some channels on iDesitv, the sound and video is too fast, they sound like chipmunks…are you all getting regular video and audio?
Can you help me resolve this issue?

Even i was surprised to find so many sites like muft.tv, apnicommunity.com offering the recorded streams of the episode of all the popular tv serials. i dont know is it legal or not. but atleast i am not missing it

As many Indians out here in US, I am also looking for some website providing a quality streaming of Indian channels. I know jumptv.com but that doesnt have zee tv. Read reviews about streambox.tv…not impressive!!!
Anybody know about planetvu.com. They have zee package but just wanna know more about the service. I am ready tp pay but should get a quality service. Basically need sony, zee, star and a new channel.

I think your doing a fantastic job reviewing these websites, its really helped me weed out the sites I shouldn’t even bother with and those that are worth a look in.
My experience with desitv.com has been pretty good until recently, they are going through some site developments I suppose, so I’m being patient, the web streaming is nothing like it used to be, which can be really frustrating.
Anyway I mainly just wanted to let you know that this review site is a great idea, keep up the awesome work, it saves having to do endless google searches and come up with a verdict on your own about these sites.

The site is good but can u pls show the updated telecast of star plus as it is not in consistency with the one showing in India. (i guess the telecast is of some other country and it shows some outdated serials)
